It took me back to Paris, 2003, standing in the press area at the finish on the Champs-Élysées witnessing the battle for the Green Jersey between Baden Cooke and Robbie McEwen. The Frenchman, Nazon won the final stage followed by Baden and then Robbie. Baden’s win gave him the Green Jersey.

My attention was directed to this familiar figure in the VIP box, one of my favourite comedians - Robin Williams. I presented him with a kangaroo pin and he said, ‘Thanks mate. I love Australia.’

Lewy body dementia, a rare disease robbed us of such a unique talent - such a sad loss.
